You actually need a UVB light. The other post stated just a UV light. UV lights run around $8, but what you need is a UVB light and those tend to run around $20.

2 Adult RES (8" to 12" depending on sex) will need a tank that is at least 100 gallons. It doesn't have to be an aquarium, you can get a large rubbermaid container or you can build a backyard pond. But they really do need to get out of the 10 gallon tank. Make sure that you have a basking area where the turtles can get completely out of the water to bask under a heat lamp. Make sure there basking area is around 85 degress. Ideally the water temp should be around 74 to 76 degrees for sub-adults which I believe you have.

Do a search on yahoo or google about RES care. You will get more info on diet, housing, filtering, and basking areas. Good LUck
